When do I need to modify the mold?

Time:2023-12-18Views:1

When the surface quality of plastic parts cannot meet the design requirements due to the presence of fusion marks, technicians usually start by addressing issues such as melt temperature, injection speed, pressure, flow rate, and mold temperature.

Usually, the adjustment of melt temperature, injection speed, pressure, flow rate, and mold temperature is achieved through equipment, with small adjustments according to the molding condition standards, approaching the ideal value.

Obviously, items such as melt temperature, flow rate, pressure, flow rate, and mold temperature that can be adjusted through equipment are relatively easy to achieve. On the one hand, they are easy to adjust, and on the other hand, they can be repeated multiple times. The difficulty for Shenzhen mold manufacturers lies in the fact that when the above methods are no longer feasible, they have to modify the mold to achieve the expected results, which is also the key point that Shenzhen plastic mold factories need to discuss.

There may be several situations where mold modifications are needed:

(1) There are bubbles sandwiched at the fusion mark, and it is necessary to add exhaust holes on the corresponding parting surface.

(2) The depth of the fusion mark always exceeds the tolerance, and it is necessary to adjust the thickness of the plastic part, that is, the mold cavity.

(3) The position of the fusion mark is biased towards the middle of the plastic part, and the position of the gate needs to be adjusted.
