Tips for Injection Mold Processing

Time:2024-02-26Views:1

1. Be sure to reserve margin during processing

The mold workpiece needs to be heat treated, and a grinding machine allowance of 0.25mm is added to one side of the external material preparation size before heat treatment. For the parts that require CNC rough machining on the mold core and insert, 0.2mm is left on one side, and 0.3-0.5mm is left on one side of the rough milling shape on the fitter milling machine. After online cutting, the workpiece needs to be processed on the grinding machine, leaving 0.03mm on one side of the profile and 0.1mm on one side of the rough milling shape on the fitter milling machine; Mirror polishing is required after CNC precision machining and electrical pulse, with 0.03mm left on one side.

2. CNC machining principles

For the parts of the core and inserts that require CNC roughening, a margin of 0.2mm should be left on one side. For workpieces that require CNC precision machining after heat treatment, if the appearance of the product allows for CNC precision machining, CNC machining should be given priority. If precision machining cannot be achieved, electric pulse machining should be used.

3. Principles of CNC electrode disassembly

The injection molding cavity core should first remove the appearance of the main electrode, then remove the other electrodes, and finally remove the local electrode; The electrodes for the appearance of the front model should be given priority to overall processing. For areas that cannot be processed by CNC, wire cutting should be used to process corners to ensure that the surface of the front model is intact without any machining marks; Reinforcing ribs with similar depth differences in the back model can be processed together with ribs and columns, and an electrode should be made as much as possible; The deep ribs on the surface of the front model should be embedded with separate electrode side strikes to prevent the deposition of carbon by electric pulses; The electrode of the back model should not be milled as much as possible, and wire cutting should be used to clean the angle. If necessary, the electrode should be disassembled or directly cut with wire; The spacing between the bars, bars, or columns in the front model is 35mm larger and should be done separately to save copper material.
