Three methods to reduce mold processing defects

Time:2023-12-19Views:1

Mold processing refers to the processing of forming and blank making tools, as well as shear and die-cutting molds. Sometimes defects may occur during mold processing. Below, the editor of a plastic mold company will explain several small methods to reduce mold processing defects.

The first one is to use cooling and lubricating fluids reasonably, play the three major roles of cooling, washing, and lubrication, maintain clean cooling and lubrication, and control grinding heat within the allowable range to prevent thermal deformation of the workpiece. Improve the cooling conditions during grinding, such as using oil immersed grinding wheels or internally cooled grinding wheels. Introducing cutting fluid into the center of the grinding wheel allows the cutting fluid to directly enter the grinding area, exerting an effective cooling effect and preventing surface burns of the workpiece.

Secondly, choose the appropriate grinding amount and use precision grinding methods with smaller radial feed rates or even precision grinding. If the radial feed rate and grinding wheel speed are appropriately reduced, and the axial feed rate is increased, the contact area between the grinding wheel and the workpiece is reduced, and the heat dissipation conditions are improved, thereby effectively controlling the increase in surface temperature.

Thirdly, it is advisable to choose and adjust grinding wheels reasonably. It is better to use white corundum grinding wheels, which have hard and brittle performance and are prone to producing new cutting edges. Therefore, the cutting force is small and the grinding heat is small. It is better to use medium particle size, such as 46-60 mesh, in terms of particle size. In terms of grinding wheel hardness, medium soft and soft (ZR1, ZR2, R1, R2), which are coarse and low hardness grinding wheels, can reduce cutting heat due to good self-excitation.
