Five common methods for plastic processing technology

Time:2023-11-16Views:1

Injection molded products have numerous applications and are widely used in aerospace, electronics, ships, automobiles, electrical appliances, and other mechanical fields. Especially for some plastics with good performance, after injection molding, some of the products have better performance than some metals. This is also why many products choose injection molded parts.

Injection molding involves plastic particles, injection mold design and production, injection molding machines, injection molding technicians, and so on. No problem should occur in any link, otherwise it can easily lead to unqualified injection molding products.

1. Injection molding

The most widely used molding method for plastic products is the injection molding machine, which is the primary molding equipment for making various shapes of plastic products from thermoplastic or thermosetting materials using plastic molding molds. Injection molding is achieved through injection molding machines and molds.

In fact, it is similar to the plasticine we used to make when we were young. Put a piece of plasticine (plastic melt) into a box (mold) with a certain shape, press it with your hand (mold pressing), and then open the box cover (mold opening) to obtain the product we want.

2. Extrusion molding

A processing method in which materials are processed into various cross-sectional products or semi-finished products through the interaction between the extruder barrel and the screw, while being thermally plasticized and pushed forward by the screw. Mainly used for the preparation of pipes and sheets.

3. Blow molding

Also known as hollow blow molding, it is a rapid plastic processing method. The tubular plastic preform obtained by extrusion or injection molding of thermoplastic resin is placed in a split mold while it is hot (or heated to a softened state). After the mold is closed, compressed air is immediately introduced into the preform, causing the plastic preform to expand and tightly adhere to the inner wall of the mold. After cooling and demolding, various hollow products are obtained.
