Surface technology is a necessary process for die-casting mold factories to complete a die-casting part. There are many types of surface processes, but some customers may have questions in this regard. For example, can I choose not to undergo surface technology?
The die-casting mold factory tells you that the choice is the customer's preference, and we can produce according to their preferences. However, our die-casting mold factory still recommends choosing surface treatment. Although omitting the surface treatment process will result in a lower price, it will not achieve a beautiful appearance. Without surface treatment, the surface of the die-casting part will be rough, not smooth, and the color will be dull and unsightly. Moreover, if surface treatment is not carried out, the die-casting part is extremely prone to oxidation, which will reduce the service life of the die-casting part. Secondly, surface treatment can resist and delay the following types of corrosion: (1) pitting corrosion: corrosion is spot like and forms deep pits. The occurrence of pitting corrosion is related to the metal's properties and the medium in which it is located. (2) Uniform corrosion: The corrosion on the surface of zinc alloy die castings causes a uniform thinning of the cross-section. (3) Stress corrosion: Under the combined effect of corrosive media and high tensile stress, the surface of die castings corrodes and expands inward into microcracks, often leading to spontaneous fracture. (4) Gap corrosion: Partial corrosion that often occurs on the surface in gaps or other concealed areas due to differences in the composition and concentration of the medium between different parts. Die casting mold factories not only carry out surface processing, but also protect the die-casting parts, maintain and strengthen the surface of the die-casting parts, and increase the service life and reliability of the products.
